This is a short horror story that I wrote recently. I had been out of the habit of writing fiction for a good while (at least a year) until I wrote this story, and I'm not entirely sure what broke the dry spell. The idea just fell on me and I went with it. The story has a sort of 50's horror comic quality to it that I like, although it leans more toward the surreal than the visceral, in spite of the way it ends.
